While we were out looking at Smokey Joe's Cabin (again), we ran into the builder/neighbor (again).

This time, he invited us to have a look inside of his log home, if we wanted.

He knew that log homes were a fairly new consideration for us, and he was just genuinely interested in helping us make the right decisions for our next home. He thought we might want to see what a larger (and more custom-built) log home looks like.

...So heck yeah, we went!

We met a key player in this process of buying (or even building!) a log home here in Williamson County, Tennessee!

We've been doing a bunch of research and making a boatload of visits to the cute little cabin in the woods that we're now calling "Smokey Joe's Cabin".

Why?

I feel a little weird saying this, because we never thought we'd buy a pre-owned home.

But...

After meeting with Realtors for the first time, and visiting our first two homes for sale, we've come to the following conclusions:

When we arrived at the next house (after following the second realtor's turn-by-turn directions to "the Lakewood Club" -- an old lake resort in the woods near Fairview, Tennessee) Jim & I both looked at each other in disbelief.

Coincidentally, this one also happened to be a log home!

What are the odds???

Today was the first day we decided to actually visit a couple of homes that are for sale around here.

We called & spoke with the Realtors who were listed for two of the homes on our list.
