How To Decorate With Simple, Rustic Christmas Decorations Inside Your Log Home

cmas-tree-4%20copy.jpgI know, Christmas is over. But this is how I do things...

I see things that other people have done, and I collect ideas that I want to try. Then, by the time next Christmas rolls around, I know exactly how I want to pull it off.

Such is the case with my decorating plans for Christmas in our new log home. (...Hopefully next year at this time we'll be all moved in! Right?)

I finally have it all set in my mind exactly how I'd like to decorate our log home -- with Christmas trees (yes, plural) and other holiday decorations.

Here's what I'm thinking...

Log Cabin Homes Adorned With Holiday Lights & Christmas Decorations

log-cabin-home-holiday-lights-photo-by-Rachelita.jpgThere's just something about the warm glow of lights (like candles & holiday lights) as they shine against the backdrop of a log home that gives me "the warm fuzzies".

It takes me back to the day of Ma & Pa Ingalls -- when life was different.

Plus, I've always been more fond of natural light than harsh bright lights inside the home. (Dimmers are my best friend.)

So here is my way of sending warm holiday wishes to fellow log home enthusiasts...
Enjoy the photos!

GE, GE Profile & Kenmore Microwave Oven Recall

I've been writing a lot about microwaves, stoves, and other kitchen appliances lately. So I thought I'd give you a heads-up that some of the most popular microwave ovens have been recalled... 92,000 of 'em!

recalled-ge-microwave-ovens.pngYesterday's recall involves microwave combo wall ovens sold under the brand names:

  • GE

  • GE Profile

  • Kenmore

The units affected by the recall were sold from January 2000 to December 2003.

The concern is a possible fire hazard. There are reports that about 3 dozen of these microwave ovens have actually caught fire.

Anyone who has one of these microwave ovens should stop using it immediately. GE and Sears are offering either a free repair or a significant rebate on a new microwave oven.

Here's the scoop...
