Could It Be… Yet Another Forested Piece of Paradise?

deciding where to build, Tennessee land

A water crossing in Leipers Fork, TN. We spent a good deal of time today exploring some properties that our land developer/log home builder friend told us about.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera on this trip, but I shot this picture on a previous trip to that area. It’s an actual watercrossing in Leiper’s Fork, TN — near the property that I describe below. This drive-thru creek always amazes me whenever we’re out this way. No, there’s no bridge missing… you’re supposed to drive right through it. These are actual roads and a bridge has never been in place here. It’s pretty cool. (The water is obviously very shallow here — up to about 5 inches deep in the center.)

They were pretty SWEET — especially the lots on “Lyric Lane”!

This being such a musically-inclined community (especially when it comes to songwriters)… living on Lyric Lane would definitely be a conversation starter and something you could talk about for years to come.

The others were really nice too. But, for one reason or another, we’ve pretty much ruled out all of them, except one…

We Found Another Enchanted Forest

The one we like is on Oscar Green Road (technically in Primm Springs, TN — a very tiny community right next to Franklin & Leiper’s Fork).

The builder/developer met us there so he could show us the boundaries of the property. Good thing he did — we’d never have made sense of those woods on our own.

Anyway… It was SO nice! There were many trees in this Enchanted Forest — in every direction from the homesite. And in the back, there was a trickling creek and small waterfall. It was truly paradise!

We’re trying not to get too excited about this one — even though it’s got just about everything we want.

We’re going to check out the neighbors & neighborhood better and then make sure we can get Internet out here & stuff like that.

*fingers crossed*

UPDATE: We called the field engineers for both the BellSouth telephone company and Comcast cable company and learned that not only is there NO highspeed Internet available here… there isn’t any projected for this area for YEARS! What a bummer… we really liked this lot.
