Today we got a quote from our first log home builder: Honest Abe Log Homes.

“Straight Talk and Honest Value… We Take Our Name Seriously.”

That’s right, we don’t know where we are going to put this log home of ours… but one thing’s for sure, we’re moving ahead with our plans to build it somewhere!

This way, when we do find the perfect piece of property, we’re ready.

Honest Abe has a model home and sales office near Nashville (in Murfreesboro). The sales rep was awesome!

I especially like that she genuinely tried to get a feel for what we were looking for and she offered suggestions and ideas above and beyond what we came in with. Things that only she, as someone who’s worked in this business for years, would know.

Honest Abe's model home is loaded with helpful information about log homes in general... plus information about their own log home packages.We really liked the way they decorated many of the rooms in the model home... especially this upstairs bonus room or office. The railing gave it a nice open feel.You can even get a good feel for how log homes are built here... they have actual log samples and colors for you to see.

Where We Go From Here

When we left the Honest Abe info center, our level of enthusiasm for moving forward with the building process was kick-started. It felt good to begin to “solidify” our plans and get things on paper.

We can’t wait to see what the bottom line is going to be on this custom log home of ours!

We’re also meeting with a sales rep from Southland Log Homes (in LaVergne) this week.
